Delhi Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana Eligibility Criteria

The Delhi government has introduced the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana to support women in Delhi, as part of the 2024 budget. Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that the monthly financial assistance under the scheme would be raised from ₹1,000 to ₹2,100 if the AAP government is re-elected. The primary aim of this initiative is to enhance the financial well-being and empowerment of women in the city.

Eligibility Criteria

Women who are eligible for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Scheme (or the 1000 Rupees Scheme):

  • Age Requirement: Women must be 18 years or older to apply.
  • Voter ID Card: Women should have a valid Delhi voter ID card.
  • Residency Requirement: Only women who are permanent residents of Delhi are eligible to apply for the scheme.
  • Income Limit: The annual income of the woman must not exceed 3 lakh rupees.

The Chief Minister has stated that women in Delhi can benefit from this scheme, but there are certain exclusions.

Women who cannot take advantage of the scheme:

  • Women already receiving social security benefits from the Delhi Government, such as: Widow pension, Old age pension, Disability pension
  • Women who have paid income tax in the previous financial year.
  • Women who are current or former government employees.
  • Former public representatives (e.g., MP, MLA, or council member) are not eligible.

Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana First Installment Date 

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said that the Election Commission of India (ECI) will soon announce the dates for the 2025 Delhi elections, which will also consider the date for the scheme’s installment. She added that at least the first installment of the scheme will be credited before March 31, 2025. This means that the first payment will be made before the end of the financial year.
